To get your iguana to eat properly he must be kept warm with either a heat lamp or rock be offered clean drinking water and a bowl large enough to bathe in somethimes when introducing them to a new cage it is best to use a stress relief spray he should be offered fresh chopped fruit and vegtables although not a lot of lettuce it could cause diareha also make sure your cage is as long as your iguana+6″ it is also recommended that that are bathed in warm water daily.

Maybe you should’ve done a little research on them before you got one?

There are a number of commercial rations available but, as suggested by Debra, you should always supplement them with thoroughly rinsed, chopped fresh fruits and vegetables (cucumbers should be peeled because they are waxed before packing and make sure you take out the seeds out of the apples -they have a trace of arsenic) AND special vitamins. BeneBac is good for the stress of been in a new environment, too. A little romaine lettuce is OK but never any Iceberg. The aquarium should be as large as you can possibly manage with a soft sand bottom and a nice flat basking rock (can be a fake) and you should also make sure you have a full spectrum light for him (the heat lamp is good for heat but it does not provide him with the necessary rays he needs in order to produce vitamin D which he needs for absorbing calcium). Also, make sure you have a thermometer and a gyrometer in the aquarium so you can monitor both temperature and humidity. Change his water (both bath and drinking and always use distilled or purified, never tap) once a day or more often if dirty. Make sure you wash the water containers with soap to kill all bacteria and that you rinse them very, very well so no trace of soap is left.
And, yes, please do buy yourself a good book about them, there is much more to learn than just food and water.
Good luck!
