How can I get my Older dogs to move around more. They just are not playful anymore. Franapple
First, take them to the vet to have them checked out. Old dogs often develop arthritis and/or other age-related diseases that may leave them feeling sore and/or sick and disinclined to exercise. The vet can prescribe treatment, if necessary, to help your dogs feel more comfortable and energetic.
If the vet clears your dogs for exercise, try taking them different places to inspire interest in their surroundings. A dog who just lies around his own yard may get really excited about exploring a new park or even just walking around a different part of town.
Dogs move with their pack, and their pack is YOU! Take them with you and GET MOVING!
