Our cat Laser was just diagnosed with crystals in his urine. They took an xray of his bladder and it came back clean.  They gave him a one time antibiotic injection and put him on Hills Science diet (C/D) Multi care for bladder health.  They told me he must stay on this food for the rest of his life.  He will be 14yrs old this coming June.  I read an article somewhere on the internet last night that it was not good to keep an animal on a prescription diet like that for their lifetime.  Is this true? Also how is the reputation of Hills?  My daughter has no use for them and now I am worried.
I found a brand by Purina called Purina Pro Plan for Urinary Tract Infections but the stores listed as selling it around here did not carry it.  Any thoughts? Embarrassed

Hi, I just joined and read about your cat. My cat of 16 yrs. also had the same problem when he was 3yrs old. He was on Hills Science diet c/d all his life. I highly recommend their food.
