Rest easy now Spunky

Spunky was born in my house after I trapped his pregnant semi feral mother and aunt four years and five months ago. They gave birth just days apart. He resided with his aunt and two sisters (or cousins) as indoor cats in my house after I adopted out as many of the fur babies as I could to good homes.  He was grey and white, neutered as a kitten,  and lived up to his name.  He was a big hog and would pull at my sleeve to eat yummies out of my hand.  He stopped eating recently and started to lose weight and to become more and more reclusive. He did not respond to my syringe feeding. Vet was sure it was a virus and we had him on different antibiotics because he soon developed a temperature.  He is at rest now.  Vet today confirmed it as feline infectious peritonitis.
So here's to you Spunkalunk.  I thank the good Lord for the short time I had you in my life.  Almost all the cats the many generations of people in my family owned lived to a much older age.  I figure you stayed healthy with all the love and good food and toys and pet beds provided.  I know that if you had been born here in the city streets, you would not have lived so long but still 4 years 5 months is too short a time.  Every moment is precious and every moment contains a lifetime.  You are resting now in the garden with the other feline kings (Tom and Muffin also memorialized on pet discussion).  The birds are singing and you are at peace.  Of course my heart is broken and I can only whisper that I love you sweet boy.  Sleep with the angels and dance over the moon with Tom and Muffin.
