Ways to Remember your Pet?

There are so many ways to pay tribute to a special pet friend. My dog Townsend passed on recently and I would like to hear what others do? I have thought about an urn if I can find one fitting
If there are ideas floating out there that has helped people with a loss, I would like to hear them.

I am so sorry for your loss.  One way I have memoralized my pets is by contributing money to the ASPCA, Humane Society or some other animals organization and specifically stating in the note that it is in memory of my pet and the pet's name. One can even donate leftover unopened food/toys/beds to a local shelter in memory.  I lay my pets  (cats) to rest in my little city garden and there are different memorial stones for purchase but I plant special flowers on their graves especially perennials that come back year after year.  If you have ashes, you can get a special box shaped like your pet or paste a picture of your pet on a special box and keep your pal's remains in there. Whatever you do, rest easy that you nurtured and loved an animal and that is a memory that outlasts the test of time.

I am sorry about your loss sparrow. As far as remembrance, I have pictures of my pets, and my sweet memories of time spent with them. I bury them, so I do know where their graves are too.

Firstly, I am very sorry for your loss, though grieving and leaving through this surely would not work well for you.

It would be nice to cherish and remember the times you were happy in each other's side but that would let you dwell on what has happened before and surely would not help you move forward.

Though very tough, you just have to get by these things one at a time.

Oh my gosh - there are so many wonderful pet memorial keepsakes like these http://www.jewelrykeepsakes.com/Pet-Cremation-Jewelry-s/32.htm on the market!!!  I've used this company a couple of times and they have photo engraved pendants, keychains that will hold their ashes, pendants that hold ashes, keepsakes to put in your car - honestly, I buy them A LOT as grieving gifts for friends.  At $40, they are affordable and the memorials are treasured.  Fine tune how you want to remember them and what works for you individually.  ie - some people aren't jewelry wearers so in lieu of that you can name a star after your pet, do a memorial video, etc.  Options are endless!  (hugs)
