Red Stomach Rash

I need some help.  My vets are stumped.  My dog came down with a weird condition about a week ago.  Her stomach was horribly engine red, and warm to the touch.  Her ears are also red on the inside.  She doesn't seem bothered by it...she doesn't scratch or hasn't changed her mood.  Now a week later she has developed a couple of sores on her gums in her mouth.  The redness has been reduced a little, but now the redness is more splotchy.  I've also now noticed that her arm pits are also red and the majority of the redness is in the groin area.  She's been on a strong dose of Prednisone for a week now.  The vet has tested for lyme disease.  I have not changed anything in her diet.  The vet thinks she may have had an allergic reaction to her heartworm medicine (Interceptor), but I was thinking the Prednisone would have worked more by now.  I'm currently waiting for the results from the blood test to come back.
Has anyone seen this issue elsewhere?  I'm desperate.

I think the red rash is due to fleas or infection. Check your dog's bed or mat where he usually stays. Fleas might have infested. Try to bathe him with flea treatment shampoos. Keep him clean
