My Chihuaua Hates me!!! Help!!!
Jun 28th, 2010 at 11:19pm

So I have an 8 month old Chi who can not stand me... I feed him and walk him every day And atempt to hold him if he comes within 2 feet of me. He loves kids and will play with them and give them kisses and the same with other dogs, but when it comes to me he runs and HIDES!!! I keep a leash on him and pull slightly telling him to come but he just chokes himself.... I am attempting to crate train but he REFUSES to go in and squirms so i physically can not  get him in. I am right now putting him in the bathroom at night because that seems to be when he does the most damage... If someone has any advice PLEASE help me... Oh and the potty traning is just as horrible!! Undecided

Where did you get your Chi?  Did you perhaps adopt him or have you had him since he was a young puppy?  He may just have issues with you because he is relating seeing you to something that happened to him that was unpleasant.  Like maybe another adult looking kind of like you or just female hurt him and he is relating that incident to you.  If not, then you may need to take him to some obedience training to see if they can help you to learn how to get him to accept you so that you can train him.  Keep doing as Styla said too, feed him and spend time with him.  Don't try to force him or scold him for being scared of you right now.  He may just need some time.

Their are some good training DVD'd out there but i think the most solid advice has already been given. Keep being the one with the food and your Chi will come around.

Whoa! This is kinda hard and I am so sorry for that Sad

Try talking to your dog in a calm, loving and sweet voice. Let them know how much you love them. And even if hates you you, still try to take him as you stroll in the park or in the neighborhood.
