Sad ok i have just adopted a dog from the shelter. he is 8 years old and in really good shape. his owner befor him went into a old person home and couldent have him. he told the shelter there were health problem that he knew of and the dog was just old. i saw him and feel in love...yada yada. well 3 perfect night was had him the 4th he had two seziers back to back. i was afraid we were gonna lose him. 5th night was fine and tonight...his 6th night with he has another one only one this time and it was on his lower half of his body. he lets me hold him and talk to him,sing,humm...anyting i do for my son to cal him i do on the dog. he will lay his upper half of his bady in my lap and i know he trust me, i know he dose.

i know its not stress realted cause trust me he acts like a puppy with us. so stinkin happy you would think personality wise he was 4-6 years old.
he isent that big on eating here yet unless it falls from the high chair...lol but he dose eat.
he takes a doggie vitamin.
our family honestly cant afford the medication to ''prevent'' it from happending. after i looked into it i found out its a vitamain/nutriants problem. thats why he has the vita.

dose anyone know something that could help him....that could found like in a store? or even in my own house? Embarrassed
i want do as much as i can to help him, in this short time i can i love him, and want him happy.

If he is having seizures he needs to see a vet.  Most likely they will put him on Phenobarbital which is very cheap at your local drug store available via a pet prescription.  I think it's like $10.00 for quite a bit.  There is nothing you can really do to help your animal if it has seizures without the help of a vet.  Seizures can also cause the death of the animal if left untreated.

You really need to get your animal to the vet so a proper diagnoses and regiment plan can be obtained.  Most likely the people you spoke to are not vets and without seeing the animal have no way to really know what the problem is anyway.  Please please please take him to the vet so he can feel better again.

Hi!
Have you looked into Alternative meds or homeopathic formulas?  There's a website you should check out.  www.onlynaturalpet.com. ; They have formulas for cats and dogs.  I have made lots of purchases from them in the past.  Delivery is fast and they are very knowledgeable.

I hope this helps you!  (keep us posted)

yes he doing well. he dosent meds, only because it has to do with brain. he is missing an eye. wht we were told was that he has a infection when he was a puppy and cause of that they took his eye out and in the process the best guess we have or have gotten is that something went wrong and nicked his nerves. he only has seziers every 3 weeks for 2 days. and so since its on a scedual needless to say they just want us to watch him. if he becomes more active in his seziers then diff. actions will be discussed....but we are looking forward to takeing him fishing...yay

I have a cat that had seizures; it was extremely scary at first. But once they got him on the correct dose of Phenobarbital, he hasn't had one since. And like someone else said, it's very cheap...i think i pay $20 for 60 pills and give him two pills a day.

The only expensive part was the initial emergency treatment....$800+. He had seizures all night. By the time the vet opened he had lost his vision and pretty much all body control. Thankfully they were able to stabilize him, and he regained his vision.

If there is any chance it is seizures, consider getting a second opinion as they could kill your dog. It’s going to be a lot cheaper to prevent them, than to end up in the Emergency vet.
