Problems training
Feb 4th, 2010 at 9:01am

I adopted a Yorkie a week ago. They told me that she was a stray. She is 1 1/2 years old and weights 4 pounds. The first few days I was taking her outside and she was doing her bussiness... or so I thought, she is confused. She listens to me, but will not go the on training pads. At night I realizes that she was peeing in her crade and bed. I'm lost and I don't know what to do. I need help PLEASE! Undecided

Congratulations first of all on your new adoption.  Have you contacted the place where you adopted her from and find out what kind of potty training they have tried with her?  That might be a first step.  If she has not been trained there are a lot of pet stores that offer training for dogs.  You could also get on the web and search for help with the problem.  I am not a dog owner (I only have cats) so I can only make suggestions.  Hopefully someone with a pup like yours will read your post as well and be able to offer more options.  I wish you great success with her training and again congrats!!   Smiley

Since you just got your dog and it's still new in the house, the peeing may still be a sign of marking. Dogs do that to mark their territories where in they find comfort and feel that they own it. It's still early to look at the peeing as a behavioral problem. As for now try toilet training so the dog won't pee on the bed
